Never delete or rename
A few things on the site look unused but are not. The composer looks for them by name, and old links depend on web addresses staying the same.
What the composer needs
If one of these goes missing, the Chatter breaks.
- The Take Action / Upcoming Events box on the home page.
It carries hidden labels (
data-newsletter="bulletin","take-action"and"upcoming-events") that the composer reads. Change the lines inside the lists as much as you like. Do not delete the box or the two lists, and do not replace them with new ones. - The page "Newsletter Starter".
It is the model for every special issue. It stays a draft.
- The pages "Unused special issue page 1", "… 2", and so on.
These are blank spares. The composer uses one for each special issue. They stay drafts and keep that exact name.
Web addresses
- Do not change a post's or newsletter's slug (its web address) after it is published. Links to it would break.
- Old WordPress links keep working through redirects. Webflow's redirect import replaces the whole list at once, so only the site manager changes redirects, from one reviewed file.
- Unpublish or archive instead of deleting. Many redirects point at old posts; deleting a post breaks them.
